Questions people ask

If yours isn't here, email hello@3weepages.co.uk or ring 01353 885273 (answered in working hours, voicemail otherwise). A person will get back to you.

Building your site

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. You answer plain questions, one at a time — the same things you'd tell someone on the phone. Your site builds itself beside the questions.

Can I see it before I pay?

Yes. You see all three pages, on a phone and on a computer, before you pay anything.

How long does it take?

Most people get through the questions in one go, and the site builds as you answer, so you see it straight away. It goes live once a person has checked it.

What if I don't have any photos?

Every look works without them. You can send your own photos later from your account, under Photos and files. Straight from your phone is fine.

Is my draft saved?

Yes — as you go, on the phone or computer you're using. Give us your email when the designer asks and we'll send you a link, so you can carry on from any device.

I'd rather you built it for me

That's fine. Email hello@3weepages.co.uk with your details and photos and we'll put it together, same price.

The check before it goes live

What's a Pal?

Your Pal is the person at 3 Wee Pages who looks after your site. They check it before it goes live, answer your messages, and do your reviews once it's live.

What does my Pal check?

Your search listing (each page's title and description, and your phone, hours and area as Google reads them), that your phone number and hours are right, that the site only says what you told us, that it reads well, and that anything customers rely on — a registration, insurance, a guarantee — is true. If anything needs a tweak, we'll get in touch first.

Will you change my words?

We'll tidy spelling and wording so it reads well. We won't add claims you didn't make — no invented awards, years of experience or qualifications.

Your .co.uk

Who owns the .co.uk?

You do. We register it in your name, so you're the registrant. It sits in our account with Namecheap, the registrar we use, so we can look after renewals and the technical set-up for you.

Do I get an email address with my .co.uk?

Coming soon, at no extra cost: email to hello@, info@ or any other name at your .co.uk will come to the inbox you already use. It's forwarding, not a new mailbox: there's nothing to set up, it arrives on your phone too, and when you reply it comes from your usual address. We're testing it now and will switch it on for every site when it's ready. If you leave, forwarding stops when your address moves, so set up email wherever you take it.

When does my site show on my .co.uk?

Once you've paid, we register your .co.uk in your name and point it at our servers. Connecting it to your site isn't switched on yet, so for now your site shows at a 3weepages.co.uk address, like yourname.3weepages.co.uk. It's the same site either way, and the .co.uk is still yours.

What if the .co.uk I want is taken?

The designer suggests close alternatives that are free — a tidy variation, or the .uk — or you can try a different name. Already have a web address? Choose “I already have one” in the designer and your Pal will talk it through with you. Connecting an address you already own isn't switched on yet.

After it's live

Can I change things later?

Yes. Change your hours, services, wording and contact details yourself, from your account, whenever you like. For new photos, a new logo or anything else, message your Pal from your account under Messages and help.

What's a review?

Your Pal looks over your live site: checks your details, hours and services are still right, reads your search listing and tries it on a phone. Then they fix what's wrong, or tell you what to change if you'd rather do it yourself. Two a year are included.

How do I get a review?

Ask for one from your account whenever you like, or ask your Pal to book both in for the year. Your account has a button for each.

Can I have more than three pages?

Three pages is the core of 3 Wee Pages, and it's all most small businesses need. If you need more, ask your Pal and we'll quote for extra pages first. It's optional and you can always say no.

Do you design logos?

No, but you can add the logo you already have when you pick your look. No logo? Choose a lettering for your business name from six styles instead.

What happens after year one?

It's £49 a year, taken from the card you paid with until you cancel. That covers hosting, the padlock (SSL), your domain renewal and two reviews a year by your Pal. We email you 30 days before each renewal, and you can cancel from your account at any time.

Where's the site hosted?

On UK servers with Cloudflare in front for speed and security. The padlock (SSL) is on by default.

Leaving

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Within 30 days of paying, tell us and we'll refund £99 of your £149. We keep £50 for our admin and for releasing your web address, which stays yours. If you're buying as a private individual you also have 14 days to cancel by law; our terms explain how that works.

What if I want to leave?

It's £25. We release the IPS tag — the bit that lets you move a .co.uk — and you can take your domain to any registrar you like. We'll help you point it at your new site.

Can I take my website with me?

Yes. We host it for you while you're with us. If you leave after your first 30 days, ask and we'll send you a copy of your site.

What's your business called?

That's the first question. Answer it and a few more, and you'll watch your website take shape. Nothing to pay until you're happy with it.
